Dry tandoori rubs will add depth of flavor to your favorite grilled foods. They are great for tofu, fish, pork chops, chicken breasts and vegetables.
Prepared secret tandoori seasoning rubs already contain the right mix of flavors ranging from Asian to Mediterranean styles.
Three to four tablespoons of spice rub should be enough for two pounds of food.
To apply a tandoori rub, sprinkle it over your choice of meat, poultry, fish or veggies and lightly rub into the surface with your hands. Or place the rub in a large plastic bag, add your ingredients and shake to coat. Then let the food sit in the refrigerator for 30/45 minutes.
Tandoori Spice Rub
Tandoori originally referred to cooking food by slow-roasting it in a clay oven, or tandoor. In the West, tandoori has come to mean a specific flavor rather than a method of cooking. So even if you do not have a clay oven or pot, you can use this seasoning to flavor many types of meats and recipes. Rub this blend directly on meat, or mix with plain yogurt for a marinade and has been used in Pakistani cuisine, Indian cuisine, Punjabi cuisine.
Popular common uses of this delicious seasoning are chicken, lamb or beef kabobs. Makes about 1/2 cup.
